Summer Trombone Choir

Tonight was the first rehearsal of the summer trombone choir. We are playing the National Anthem at the June 7 Lincoln Saltdogs game. The choir sounded terrific and two of the incoming freshmen were there (Luke Anderson and Alex Hoffman. We went through an hour and one half worth of repertoire. I was the only one not in pain primarily because I was conducting. It's fun to see everyone and hopefully we'll have even more next week!

Welcome our new colleagues to the studio!

We have four new students joining the studio in the fall. They are Luke Anderson, Alex Hoffman, Logan Howard and Trevor Beckenhauer. I have great expectations for them.

The streak continues

Every year the Lincoln Municipal Band holds the John Shildneck Solo Competition. The trombone studio has been very successful in this competition. Past winners are:  Liam Hughes,  William White,  Claire Knaus,  Luke Thallas,  Joe Mumm,  Craig Mathis,  Andrew Binkard and  Bryant Scott. This year we add Kalvin Schreiner to the list! Kalvin will perform the Concertino by Lars Erik Larsson with the band. Check it out: Congratulations Kalvin! We know how hard you worked for this.

A New Beginning...

After a great deal of thought and consideration I decided to close the Facebook page for the Trombone Studio. This is a new way to get our information out to the public and to former, current, and future students. Keep an eye on the page for news to come.
